About Folder Size 2.6
Folder Size is a extension to Windows Explorer for Windows 2000 and XP and preliminary support for Windows Vista, 7 and 8 that adds a "Folder Size" column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders. It keeps track of which folders you view, and scans them in the background so you can see complete size of all files within the folder. It's very useful for cleaning up your disk. Once you get used to having that information available, a directory listing simply looks incomplete without it!
Folder Size Install Notes
To install Folder Size :
- Install / Download FolderSize-2.6-x86.msi for Windows 2000,XP
- Install / Download FolderSize-2.6-x64.msi 64 bit installer for Windows Vista, 7 and 8
This will make the column available to Explorer, but you'll need to manually choose to display it. In Details view, right click on the column headers to see a list of available columns. The recommended settings are to turn on "Folder Size", turn off the "Size" column, and then drag the Folder Size column to where "Size" usually is. Now go to the Folder Options dialog (in the Tools menu), View tab, and click Apply to All Folders. Now you'll see Folder Sizes for all your folders!
